May 05, 2017 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
The Piazza at Schmidt’s Commons presents a brand-new open-air Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Friday, May 5, 2017, from 5:00pm to 10:00pm. Get ready to fiesta with live bands, entertainment, dancing, dance lessons, sombrero races, pinatas and more.
Entertainment kicks off at 5:00pm with Magdaliz and Her Latin Ensemble Crisol. The lively performance will range from romantic Puerto Rican Boleros to energetic Mexican Mariachi music to feisty Cuban Sones to sensuous Colombian Cumbias to contagious Dominican Merengues – and everything in between.
We will also have dance performances from Ballet Folklorico Yaretzi – BFY. Ballet Folklorico Yaretzi is a school of dance and Mexican dances. Recognized for the excellent preparation of its students and teachers in PA.
Next, the Piazza at Schmidt’s Commons brings back their monthly salsa night with free lessons at 7:00pm, followed at 7:30pm by a night of dancing under the stars with “Fania Forever” from the Siempre Salsa Philly All Stars and special guest
Willy Torres Music
