Siempre Salsa Philly is an initiative undertaken by Rob Bernberg (Latin Beat Magazine), Jesse Bermudez (A.M.L.A. founder) and Carlos Sanchez (Orquesta del Barrio) to grow the audience for authentic salsa music in the Philadelphia region via a series of educational and entertainment events throughout the year.

At Take the Lead Dance Project our belief is that social dance is important to the education, growth, and development of our youth. Through the practice of social dance, we strive inspire confidence, community, and joy in the lives of high school students in Philadelphia. Take the Lead Dance Project is a 10-week in-school arts education, social, and physical development social dance program designed to utilize partner dance instruction to impart social skills and attitudes broadly associated with the realm of social dance including discipline, teamwork, civility, appreciation of music, enhanced communication skills and respect for other cultures.

Take the Lead Dance Project celebrates diversity by exploring different cultures through their respective social dance traditions, including dances that originate in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Argentina, and the United States. Philadelphia inner-city high school classrooms are very diverse. Social dance breaks down social and cultural barriers, deepens intercultural appreciation, and allows students to work together joyfully to achieve a common goal.
